My situation was I had an outdoor faucet that was leaking into the wall, so I called Luke Buchanan to get this resolved. On the phone I explained to Luke what the problem was. When his employee arrived at my house, however, he did not have anything he needed to do the job. He looked at the problem, then said he didn't have the tools, and also that he had to leave to go to town to buy a new faucet.
These people are crooks. They will quote you one price and then charge you 4 times that much. When you refuse to pay, they will take you to small claims court. If you haven't kept every moment of your interaction with Buchanan intricately documented, you will lose in court and have to pay the crooked plumber the ridiculous amount he charged you. He makes his money by suing people for money they never agreed to pay. Ask around before hiring this thief. You will quickly learn what I had to learn the hard way. I recommend Blakeney & Son Plumbing. They are good and fair.
Two hours later he returned with the faucet and tools, and got to work. Within no more than an hour, the job was done and he handed me a bill for almost $400.
I called Luke and he said that he charged me for over 3 hours of labor. Obviously, he billed me for the two hours that his worker was out doing who-knows-what.
I had to pay the bill (what choice did I have?) but complained to Luke, who refused to do anything about it. On top of that, that evening his worker called me from his personal cell phone later to complain that I was disputing the charges. To say that this felt threatening is an understatement.
